Hear + Qwere has always been about highlighting MArginalized queers, like myself …
And creating Mighty Real for its second year is already beyond what I originally set out to do.
After several weighty, necessary conversation salons last year, we needed to just let our hair down, throw on something shiny, and catch a good vibe.
Boogying in West Hollywood to live music was the perfect inaugural event for H+Q, but with mid-term elections rolling in that same evening, the weight we needed to escape leaned into us.
Despite America’s increasingly reckless political landscape, I want to contrast the darkness with laughter — always, and especially on Saturday, November 2.
The growing lineup for Mighty Real 2019, a comedy night, is rife with local queer talent you shouldn’t miss. For once, being the punchline of a joke will actually be funny.
