MR22: A masterclass in maintaining momentum

Sit back, relax, and laugh. Make you feel real.

Whew! Planning our fourth annual Mighty Real event has been a master class in maintaining momentum.

Recently, I was discussing A Sketch Variety Show on the Bravemaker podcast with hosts Krystina Wray Jackson and Tony Gapstione. Halfway through the interview, they asked a question that actually gave me pause: What are you learning that would be inspiring for others to keep going? Because many of us want to quit.

I’ve been so busy with my head down in execution mode that I never thought of any of it as inspiring. And all tea, I myself wonder quite regularly ‘wtf am I thinking trying to pull this all off’.

Everything is going to work out… that’s the magic of working with people who want the same thing.

“It’s a lot of work,” I told the Bravemaker hosts. “With passionate people and the right folks around, it kind of fuels itself. [But] everything is going to work out… that’s the magic of working with people who want the same thing. That is what keeps me going.”

We’re figuring out so many aspects of this show as we go: which social media assets are the most engaging, how to get actual media coverage, best ways to wardrobe a production on limited resources... the list goes on.

In the end it will be rewarding, but this whole ass pro-duc-tion has been a full time job, miss honey. So don’t sleep on us. Go buy your ticket.
